The German integrated gas and electricity supplier has built a power plant that contains 1,584 photovoltaic panels with a total cost of over 330,000 euros or $394,832 sq.m as is indicated in the press release. The plant is set up on the roof of the most important Boromir’s parts, Cibin Mill, located in Sibiu county.

The output of 443,42 kilowatts peak (kWp) is installed for the direct current. It corresponds to 360 KWh of alternating current. The renewable energy from this plant will be used by the Cibin Mill for self-consumption that is necessary for manufacturing processes.

The director of the Cibin Mill Mircea Ureche is happy to highlight such an important step of the company towards achieving the goals of green energy production for the inner consumption that will help lower the CO2 emissions.

This solar plant can cover about 7% of the yearly needs though the emissions of CO2 will be reduced by 174 tonnes annually.

The Cibin Mill is an important part of the Boromir Group. It was established in 1991 and since then, it has been producing a wide range of wheat and corn flour as well as cereals.
