“Solar Chernobyl” Company continues to implement activities at the Chornobyl NPP site for construction of Solar Power Plant (SPP) with capacity of 1 MW*Peak.
In October 2017 the “Solar Chernobyl” Company initiated the active phase of construction and assembly works for construction of the first solar power plant with capacity of 1 MW*Peak at the Chornobyl NPP site.
At this stage the following activities are being implemented at the construction site: delivery of processing equipment, installation of ballast blocks for metal structures, installation of plates for fence posts, preparation for installation of metal structures, installation of ballast foundation for integral transformer sub-stations.
3762 solar modules have been installed in the process of the construction. Special mount systems and foundations were designed to accommodate the process equipment with due regard to requirements of the site and radiological safety.
Putting into full-scale commercial operation is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2017. Annual productive efficiency of the “Solar Chernobyl-1” SPP will be 1024 MW.
The work is being performed in line with the schedule.
“Solar Chernobyl” is a joint project of the Consortium of “Rodina - Enerparc AG” companies. The project objective is the implementation of renewable power generation at the territories suffered as a result of the Chornobyl catastrophe.
In 2015 the “Rodina - Enerparc AG” Consortium and the Chornobyl NPP signed the Memorandum of intentions for construction of the solar power plant at the ChNPP site. In 2017 the parties signed the relevant agreement on the lease of the area for the solar power plant and initiated the construction process.
The Solar Consortium “Rodina - Enerparc AG” was established in 2013. “Enerparc AG” is one of the world's leading companies in the area of the design and construction of solar power plants. The company has already implemented more than 1800 MW solar generation facilities, which are installed and being successfully operated in major markets of Germany, as well as in Europe, Asia and USA.
“Rodina” Company focuses on the renewable energy production projects in markets of Eastern Europe and countries of the former Soviet Union, Central Asia and the Near East. Since 2013 the “Rodina - Enerparc AG” Consortium has been implementing a series of solar energy projects in the territory of Ukraine, Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan, with total capacity of 150MW, 80MW of which have been produced within the last 9 months.
